Hubble being 'grappled'  This artist's impression shows Hubble being 'grappled' by the Space Shuttle's remote manipulator arm at the beginning of Servicing Mission 3B in 2002. Installation of the Fine Guidance Sensor (FGS)  Astronauts C. Michael Foale, left, and Claude Nicollier (on Discovery's robotic arm) install a Fine Guidance Sensor (FGS) into a protective enclosure in the Shuttle's payload bay. Hubble in Free Orbit
The James Webb Space Telescope   Hubble captured in Discoverys Cargo Bay  This electronic still camera's view showing the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) being berthed in Discovery's bay were recorded during and soon after capture. EVA on Hubble  Astronauts Steven L. Smith, and John M. Grunsfeld, appear as small figures in this wide scene photographed during extravehicular activity (EVA).
Space Shuttle   An overview of the two ESA solar arrays just before they were rolled up during Servicing Mission 3B  New rigid arrays were installed. The 'living', flexible structures of the European built arrays are easily seen. These solar panels have by far exceeded the expectations, both in terms of lifetime (65% longer life than specified) and in terms of performance (10% more output power than the expected). Approaching Hubble  Astronauts aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery recorded this image of the approaching Hubble Space Telescope (HST) with an electronic still camera (ESC).
Fine Guidance Sensor (FGS) Setup  Gregory J. Harbaugh on the arm w/the Fine Guidance Sensor (FGS). The James Webb Space Telescope   Close-Up View of Hubble  This is a close-up view of the Hubble Space Telescope (HST).
