The Galilean Satellites
This composite includes the four largest moons of Jupiter which are known as the Galilean satellites. The Galilean satellites were first seen by the Italian astronomer Galileo Galilei in 1610. Shown from left to right in order of increasing distance from Jupiter, Io is closest, followed by Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto.
Internet Explorer users
Right Click on the image and select Set as Background.
Netscape Navigator users
Right Click on the image and select Set as Wallpaper.
Mac users
Hold down the mouse button over the image and wait for the menu.
Choose Save Image As.
Open the control panel to Desktop Pictures.
Click Select Picture and load the file you just saved.
Choose Position Automatically.
